A graduate of New York City’s Circle in the Square Theatre School, John has appeared in 15 national commercials including spots for Coca Cola, American Airlines, Bud Light and Mastercard. While still on the East Coast, he earned his Actors’ Equity card after four seasons with the Williamstown Theatre Festival in Williamstown, MA. TV guest starring credits include “House M.D.”, “Without a Trace”, “Numb3rs”, “Medium”, and “Law & Order”. In addition to acting, he is also a multi-instrumentalist musician who has written and performed music with several bands in Los Angeles and New York City. These include Fay Wolf, Staggering Johnny, and the fabled ukulele act, Bomb Your Face. John currently lives in Los Angeles, and could not be more pleased to be a part of the film “Wanting Alex”. He is originally from Nashua, NH.
ALEX: Katharine Deering (Brandt)
A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. She is the co-founder of Tall Blonde Productions, which has done numerous critically-acclaimed projects including the West Coast premiere of Paul Grellong’s “Manuscript”, and the creation of “Shakespeare in the Cemetery” at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. She is currently starring in a new film, “The Anniversary: Shallow Creek”, which will soon be coming to a theatre near you.
CHAD: Wesley Stiller
Has been acting professionally in Los Angeles for 8 years. He has worked on numerous films, television shows, music videos, and even a few plays. Last year he had the pleasure of shooting the blockbuster “Jump Broadly” in Korea for 2 and a half months. This was, of course, a huge success. In Korea. Wesley had an absolute blast working on “Wanting Alex” and is especially thankful to Chris Akers and Kerry Carney for their acute senses of fashion when choosing Chad’s wardrobe.
LIZ: Rachel Germaine
Rachel is a native New Yorker who prides herself on the Yankees and curse words. She studied at The University at Albany receiving a Bachelors degree in Theatre. Soon after college, she hit the pavement in NYC, racking up appearances at Stand-Up New York, The Laugh Factory and The Red Room. Rachel found her calling when she joined the NY based sketch group Basketcase. She went on to perform with that group for three years as they became the resident sketch group at The Manhattan Theater Source and appeared in the 2004 Chicago Sketch Fest. Basketcase received the “Best New Sketch Group” nomination at the 2005 New York City Comedy Awards. Since living in L.A., Rachel has studied with The Groundlings, Upright Citizens Brigade, Steppenwolf West and Lesly Kahn. She’s performed all around town including Improv Olympic West, ACME Theatre and Sacred Fools Theatre. She has appeared on Comedy Central’s “Sarah Silverman Program” and FX’s “The Riches,” and her upcoming projects include “Break-Ups With Matt McManus” and “The Dawg In Me” which can be seen on FunnyorDie.com. Rachel can currently be seen in national commercials for Burger King, H&R Block and Uloric.
